About Medvaan

A shop counter in Ratlam, not a boardroom.

Medvaan didn't start as a brand. It started as a small fencing and wire mesh store, and a few hundred conversations with people who just wanted a straight answer about a fence.

Brand Story

In 2021, I opened a small fencing and wire mesh store in Ratlam.

It wasn't a big plan. Ratlam sits in the middle of Malwa's farm belt — wheat, soybean, a lot of open land that needs a boundary around it — and fencing felt like a business that would always have a customer walking through the door. I called it Anudeep Enterprises.

What I didn't expect was how little that customer actually knew about what they were buying.

"GI wire? Matlab kya hota hai?" — I heard some version of that question almost every week. Not from people who didn't care. From people who'd worked the same land for twenty years, who could tell you everything about their crop and nothing about the fence protecting it, because nobody had ever explained it to them. They couldn't tell coated wire from bare wire. They didn't know that the mesh that stops a goat isn't the mesh that holds back a bull.

Most of them were simply trusting whoever stood behind the counter. In the beginning, that was me — and I didn't always have a confident answer either.

That's the gap. Not a shortage of wire. A shortage of anyone willing to explain it honestly before the sale, not after the fence had already failed.

Even the customers who did ask questions mostly asked the wrong ones. "Rate kya hai?" "Weight kitna hai?" "Kaunsa gauge hai?" — as if wire were just something you weighed and priced, not something that was about to stand between a farmer's field and whatever came looking for it.

So half the job stopped being "sell wire" and started being "figure out what this person actually needs, in language they can use." What's on the other side of the fence. What's trying to get in, or out. Whether they needed something that holds its shape or something that flexes under pressure.

The more of those conversations I had, the more obvious the second problem became: even when I got the recommendation right, I couldn't always vouch for what arrived. A gauge thinner than billed. A roll that ran short. Coating that gave up after one monsoon. I was standing behind a counter making promises about material I hadn't chosen and couldn't fully verify.

That's the point where selling wire stopped being enough. If I was going to keep telling people "yeh sahi hai, isko lo" — I needed to actually control what "sahi" meant: set the spec myself, choose who I bought from, and check it before it left for someone's field. Not just repeat whatever the last supplier had told me.

That's where Medvaan comes from. Not a factory, not a boardroom. A shop counter in Ratlam, and a few hundred conversations with people who just wanted a straight answer about a fence.

They didn't need wire. They needed what the wire was about to become.

What I Watched Wire Become

Stand at that counter long enough, and you start to see the pattern.

A fence protecting a farmer's crop.

A mesh strengthening concrete beneath a building.

A barrier guarding a factory.

A cage protecting livestock.

A partition organising an industrial floor.

A security system protecting critical infrastructure.

Six different problems. One material, doing something different each time. That's when "sell wire" stopped being the job, and "figure out what this has to become" started.

"What wire can we sell?" "What problem can wire solve?"

Wire can be drawn, galvanized, woven, welded, twisted, formed and coated. Change the diameter and its characteristics change. Change the opening and the application changes. Change the coating and its ability to withstand the environment changes. Change the way the wires come together, and an entirely different product is born.

Wire wasn't the product anymore. Wire was the building block.

Our Promise

जो लिखा है, वही मिलेगा।

"What is written is what you will receive." Not because it sounds good on a wall — because I spent years on the other side of that counter, watching what happens when it isn't true. If we say a diameter, that's the diameter. If we specify a mesh size, that's what's inside the roll.

It's the same promise our mark carries into the field under a shorter name: Built to Protect. One is what we guarantee on paper. The other is what that guarantee does once it's installed.

Medvaan's job today is close to what it was on day one at Anudeep Enterprises — figuring out what a farmer, contractor or engineer actually needs before telling them what to buy, and then making sure the product that reaches them is exactly what we said it was. The scale changed. The job didn't.

Sometimes the answer is chainlink. Sometimes weldmesh. Sometimes barbed wire, grassland mesh, GI wire or concertina wire. And sometimes the answer is a product we haven't found the right manufacturing partner for yet — which is what keeps us here.

MEDVAAN From Wire, Possibilities.
How We Work

What the promise looks like day to day

Material Integrity

Coating and gauge specifications are held to the same standard whether an order is one roll or one hundred.

Verification Discipline

Weld current, weave tension and zinc coverage are checked against our spec before dispatch, not taken on a supplier's word.

Customer-First Service

Engineers are reachable before a spec is finalised, not just after a shipment goes wrong.

Responsible Sourcing

Manufacturing partners are chosen and audited on waste-handling and environmental practice, not just price and lead time.

Our Standard

One coating discipline, six product lines

Coating Control

Zinc coverage verified against spec at source.

Gauge Precision

Wire diameter held to tolerance across every roll.

Verified Process

Weld current and weave tension are checked against our spec, not left to a supplier's word.

Engineering Access

Direct access to engineers before your order is finalised.

Leadership

Currently, it's one person.

Medvaan hasn't hired its way into existence yet — it's still run the way it started, by one person who answers for every order.
