Applications

Built for the sector you work in.

Eight sectors, one protective standard. Every application below maps to the Medvaan product lines engineered for it.

Application Guide

Which fencing system fits each application?

Choose fencing by the load, breach risk, aperture, exposure and service life—not by product name alone. Agriculture often combines grassland mesh, barbed wire and chainlink; industrial sites use weldmesh for guarding and chainlink for boundaries; high-security sites layer concertina and barbed wire.

Spec Guide

What to actually order, by sector

Not just which product — which gauge, aperture and coating, and the engineering reason behind each call.

Agriculture & Farming

A farm isn't one fencing problem — an open field, a farmhouse compound and a seed bed each need a different spec, often on the same property.

The twisted joint in Grassland Mesh gives slightly under animal pressure without the cost of a welded panel, and a 100×125 mm aperture is tight enough to hold cattle and sheep without the extra wire a finer mesh would add across a long run. For lower-pressure stretches — a boundary line rather than a livestock pen — barbed wire on 100 mm spacing covers more distance per rupee. Around the farmhouse, storage yard or equipment shed, chainlink at a tighter 50 mm aperture does a different job entirely — keeping out theft and stray animals rather than holding livestock, at a compound height rather than an open-field one. And for nurseries, seed beds and young saplings, a welded panel at 25×25 mm keeps birds and rodents out without losing shape the way a rolled product would under repeated repositioning between beds.

Industrial & Warehousing

Machine guarding needs a small aperture for hand and finger clearance; the yard boundary around it needs height and impact resistance, not fine mesh.

A welded joint holds a fixed plane under vibration near running machinery — a woven or twisted mesh works loose over time in that environment. A 25×25 mm to 50×50 mm aperture meets standard guarding clearance without blocking operator sightlines. For the yard perimeter itself, chainlink's diagonal weave absorbs impact from forklifts and stored material better than a rigid panel.

Infrastructure & Highways

Long unsupported spans along a highway or rail corridor, where the fence has to stop wildlife and stray livestock from reaching the carriageway, not just mark a line.

Chainlink's diagonal weave distributes wind and debris load across the whole panel instead of concentrating it at a joint, which matters over an unsupported span between posts. 8–10 ft height is the range that actually stops deer and cattle at a highway median — anything shorter is a suggestion, not a barrier. Where budget only allows a marked boundary rather than full containment, barbed wire in long coil lengths covers distance efficiently.

Residential & Commercial

A boundary that a residential street will actually accept the look of, without giving up how hard it is to cross.

PVC coating is the detail that separates a fence a street association signs off on from one that reads as industrial — same construction underneath, different finish. A 50 mm aperture keeps small pets contained without needing a solid wall, and a lighter 11–12 SWG gauge is enough for compound height where the load is wind and casual contact, not livestock.

Defense & High-Security

Deterrence has to work in the first few seconds of a breach attempt — there's no second chance to get the spec right after an incident.

Cross-concertina holds its coil shape without picketing down the middle of a run, which matters when a perimeter has to go up fast and stay upright without a full support structure behind it. Larger coil diameters (730 mm and up) raise the effective barrier height for sites where deterrence, not just delay, is the requirement. Barbed wire underneath or ahead of the coil adds a layered approach at lower incremental cost.

Sports & Recreation

Containing a fast-moving ball without turning the court into a visual cage for players and spectators.

A 10 ft height clears a standing volleyball spike or a cricket lofted shot, and a 50–75 mm aperture keeps the weave light enough to see through clearly — a finer mesh adds cost and cuts sightlines without adding containment that a ball-sized aperture doesn't already provide.

Poultry & Livestock

A day-old chick and a full-grown bull need opposite specs, and both are sometimes on the same farm.

Poultry runs need the tightest practical aperture — 50 mm chainlink — to hold a chick before it finds a gap, at a shorter 3–4 ft height since flight, not jumping, is the containment risk. Cattle and larger livestock need the opposite: a wide 150×175 mm aperture, a taller line, and a twisted joint that gives under a full-grown animal's weight instead of holding rigid.

Construction & Real Estate

Site hoarding has to go up fast, survive being relocated between sites, and come down again without falling apart.

A rigid welded panel holds its shape through repeated site relocation in a way a rolled product doesn't — cut, frame and re-erect without the panel losing its dimensional accuracy. GI coating means a panel isn't a write-off after sitting through one monsoon season on-site. Larger apertures (50×50 mm and up) keep panel weight manageable for a product that gets moved often.
